Making Resurrection Rolls
Children can have a visual to help them understand Jesus rising from the tomb when they make these resurrection rolls. Afterward, you can enjoy eating some tasty rolls together.
Ingredients
8 large marshmallows
1 tube crescent roll dough
¼ cup melted butter
¼ cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Procedure
Combine sugar and cinnamon
Dip marshmallows in butter, and then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture (to represent Jesus’ body being wrapped in linen.)
Place the marshmallow in the center of the triangular shaped dough (representing Jesus’ body being placed in the tomb.)
Wrap the dough around the marshmallow, and pinch seams tightly together to seal them completely so the marshmallow doesn’t seep out as it melts. (Sealing the tomb.)
Place the rolls seam down in muffin tins.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes.
When you open the roll, the marshmallow is gone and the tomb is empty.
[The angel] said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6 (NKJV)
