Did you ever do anything wrong?
I did.
When I was about 8 years old I knew I had done some things I shouldn’t have done. I didn’t like the feeling I had when I thought about those things. It was a bad feeling inside of me.
One night I spent the night at my grandmother’s house, and we listened to a girl on the radio. She said she had done some things she knew she shouldn’t have done too, and thinking about them made her have a bad feeling . . . just like I did.
But then she said she gave her heart to Jesus and Jesus made her heart brand new.
It was just like she had never even done anything wrong. She felt so good. All the bad feelings were gone. She told us Jesus loves us so much. And because he doesn’t want us to feel bad about doing things wrong, he actually died for us so we wouldn’t have to feel guilty any more. And then he came back to life again. He is our savior, the one who saves us so we can live forever. She said that if we give our hearts to Jesus, Jesus would be with us all the time and help us not do those bad things anymore. We would be able to start over. It was a new beginning.
That sounded really good to me. I wanted to feel that way too.
So I asked my grandmother if I could give my heart to Jesus too. She smiled a very big smile and said, “Yes.” Then we went into the bedroom and knelt down beside the bed. She prayed a special prayer, and I prayed the same words she did after her. That night I asked Jesus into my heart. I asked Jesus to be my Savior.
When I woke up the next morning, I was so happy that I gave my heart to Jesus.
Ever after that I knew Jesus was with me, taking care of me and showing me the right things to do. I’m so glad Jesus loves me so much.
And you know what? He loves you too. You can ask Jesus into your heart too like I did. And if you’ve done some things you don’t feel good about, Jesus will clean your heart out and give you a new start. He died and rose again so you can have a clean heart and live with him forever.

PRAYER
Jesus, I’m sorry for doing things I know I shouldn’t do. Thank you for loving me and for dying on the cross for me so I don’t have to feel guilty any more. Thank you for coming back to life again so I can live with you forever. I want to receive you into my heart and life. I want you to be with me all the time and show me what to do. Thank you, Jesus, for loving me soooo much and for being my Savior. Amen.
